Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, delivered a tearful eulogy at his memorial in Glendale, Arizona, publicly forgiving the man accused of killing her husband.
“I forgive him because it was what Christ did and it is what Charlie would do,” she said to a standing ovation. She recalled arriving at the hospital to see Charlie’s body, describing the pain as “a level of heartache I didn’t even know existed.”
Erika shared that Charlie died instantly, without fear or agony, and she saw “the faintest smile” on his lips—a sign of God’s mercy. She spoke of their Saturday love notes and his desire to help young men, even those like the one who took his life.
Erika recounted a comforting moment with Second Lady Usha Vance aboard Air Force Two, who told her, “You will get through these 15 minutes and the next 15 minutes after that.” At the memorial, Erika was named CEO of Turning Point USA and urged men to embrace true manhood and lead with integrity.
