Rev. Obaapa Christy Launches 20 Years In Ministry

Ghanaian gospel music powerhouse and gospel music legend Obaapa Christy has launched his 20 years in ministry celebration, a short event held today 21/07/2022 at Tang Palace in Accra with the press from different media houses.

Outlining the various activities lined up in the celebration, the Glory hitmaker also made it clear that she has gotten this far as a result of the grace of God translated into the many songs from the twelve (12) solid albums since 2022 when she started out as a gospel musician.

In the course of her delivery, Obaapa Christy mentioned that she didn’t come from a privileged background.
“There was lack, hardship, and poverty from my background but to see God raise me up this way by His grace for 20 years and still counting, all glory to him” – Obaapa added.

Influential media personalities such as Nana Ama Mcbrown, Captain Smart, Nana Romeo as well as colleague gospel artists such as Broda Sammy, Piesie Esther, Joyce Blessing, Abena Serwaa Ophelia, and Rose Adjei graced the occasion of the press launch.

ABOUT THE CELEBRATION

As a woman from humble beginnings, little did Obaapa Christy know that her gift would impart and impact lives for 20 solid years.

From experiences garnered through singing in live bands, churches, and other social functions Obaapa officially started recording in 2002. Discipline, consistency, hard work, and total reliance on God has resulted in churning out hit after hit. Her brand has gained great admiration from people from all walks of life nationwide and abroad.

Twenty (20) years is a milestone worth celebrating especially for the many lives and homes influenced positively by her music. With her life anchored on faith in God, Obaapa sees this celebration as a thanksgiving offering to God for fulfilling His promises to her.

Obaapa Christy entreats all stakeholders in the entertainment industry at large, organizations, family, friends, and fans to collaborate and support her raise an altar of thanksgiving to the Lord.

There will be some fan interaction and humanitarian activities by the Obaapa Christy Foundation that will precede the main event.
