Churches Ought To Work With Unpopular Gospel Artistes – Rebecca Bulayima

Congolese-born, France-based gospel music minister and prolific songwriter, Rebecca Bulayima has urged churches to engage unpopular gospel artistes in their events and programs. She said that this would help to promote the gospel music industry and give opportunities to talented but unknown singers.

In an interview with Gospel Empire Gh, Bulayima said that she was concerned about the lack of exposure and support for upcoming gospel artistes in the country. She said that many churches preferred to invite popular and established singers for their concerts and crusades, leaving out the new and emerging ones.

” I think this should make young gospel musicians who feel called and enthusiastic about using music to evangelise feel discouraged and unfairly treated. They need platforms to showcase their gifts and talents, and to reach out to more people with their messages. Churches should not only focus on the famous singers, but also on the ones who are not yet known,” Rebecca said.

Bulayima, who has been in the gospel music scene for over a decade, said that she started her career as an unknown singer who struggled to get invitations from churches. She said that she had to work hard and persevere to make a name for herself in the industry.

“I understand how it feels to be disregarded and overlooked by churches. It is not easy to break through in this industry, especially when you don’t have connections or resources. That is why I always try to support and mentor the upcoming gospel artistes whenever I can. I believe that they have a lot of potential and they deserve a chance,” she said.

Bulayima also advised the unpopular gospel artistes to be patient and faithful in their ministry. She said that they should not give up on their dreams or compromise their standards because of the challenges they face.

“God has a purpose and a plan for every gospel musician. He will open doors for them in His own time and way. They should not lose hope or be discouraged by the lack of recognition or support from churches. They should continue to work on their craft and improve their skills. They should also pray and seek God’s guidance and direction for their ministry,” she said.

Bulayima is currently working on her some projects, which she said will feature some of the unpopular gospel artistes that she has been mentoring and some popular too.

She said that she hopes that the album will help to expose them to a wider audience and create more opportunities for them.

Rebecca Bulayima is one of the most influential gospel singers and songwriters of our time. She has been singing since she was a child, and her passion for music and God has never faded. She has released several albums and singles that have touched the hearts of millions of listeners around the world.
