Abigail Coleman says She sings for God Not for Entertainment

The Canadian based Ghanaian Gospel musician Abigail Coleman has disclosed that, she doesn’t want to get too much into entertainment but rather wants to use her songs to draw people closer to God so they can receive blessing and breakthroughs as it is said in her songs.

Speaking on Hello Fm 101.5 Hello Entertainment Review show with host Dave Hammer of Dave Hammer TV, Abigail Coleman said, she doesn’t want to focus her musical career too much on entertainment but rather touch many lives with her gift and bring many to Christ through her songs.

She disclosed that her three children have made a major impact in her career as a gospel musician. She said that her children always liked her voice each time she sings and they always record her with their phone anytime she sings. She said, “my children always inspire me each time am with them.

She also mentioned that, combining her musical career and family hadn’t been easy but she always try to work her fingers to the bone by doing her duties as a mother by sleeping only 2 hours to complete her chores.

According to her, ‘Tumi’ and ‘Mekra’ depicts about her humble beginnings as she almost gave up in her dreams as a gospel artiste. She held on to the faith but it was the hand of God that has brought her this far.

More importantly, she urged all lovers of gospel music to support all Ghanaian gospel musician by downloading their songs and patronizing their albums too.

Tumi’ and ‘Mekra’ were unveiled to announce her presence on the gospel music scene at a listening ceremony at the Mangoase Restaurant at East Legon in Accra on Thursday, July 5 .

Abigail who leads worship in an Apostolic Church in Canada, wrote popular award-winning songs like, You lied To me, Daa Ke Daa Ke Daa, African Woman of which she alongside wrote with Kiki Banson etc.

From childhood, Abigail had always known within her she had a call to ministry and since then, she felt a deep sense in her spirit to follow that very call of which she says even though it hasn’t been easy, she has since not regretted following that unique call.
