Church Leaders Respect Us, What’s GH200Cedis to Us! – Francis Amo

Ghanaian Gospel star Francis Amo has taken another swipe at church leaders for what he calls disrespect in how gospel musician in Ghana are treated after their performances in church.

The Royalty Music Record Label signee, disclosed in an interview with Dave Hammer on Hello Entertainment Review how difficult and expensive it is to keep ones brand relevant for event organizers and church leaders to notice them and invite them for programes but are given unfair reception after their energized performances.

Deliberating further on the matter, Amo said most church leaders in recent times have taken to defying simple payment agreement terms with gospel artistes after performing at their churches.

According to the gospel act, he will start charging because compliment by most Men of God after their energized performances has always been the verbal payment.

Francis Amo bitterly lamented how some men of God will pay Gospel artiste as low as Gh200Cedis for their performance which he deems disrespectful and not encouraging on the part of church leaders.

“Everything is about money so give us what is due us. What is Gh200Cedis to us? I come with my band of about 10 members and you expect me to share this GH200Cedis with them? Hell No!! We came with fuel. How do we go home as a team with Gh200Cedis” Francis Amoo laments.

Dave Hammer further asked him that why should he charge in God’s work? Amo reiterated that, he has family and a band and this music ministry gift is what he lives on.

Francis Amo started music at a tender age with an interest in playing drum. He went for music rehearsals after rehearsals while schooling at the same time.

But he had to give up on school at class 6 because there was no money to support his education. He then decided to be a mechanic and so he joined a local mechanic shop where he underwent apprenticeship. But he never allowed the interest for music to slide away.

He has two albums to his credit with the second album titled ‘Ngooba’. He is currently waiting to launch his third album under Ohemaa Mercy’s record label.
