Being A Gospel Musician Doesn’t Mean Perform For Free – KODA

Takoradi-based gospel singer, KODA is telling event organizers and churches that being gospel artist doesn’t mean you should perform for free.

Many Ghanaian gospel artistes including SP Kofi Sarpong have complained about how event organizers have refused to give them the amount they deserve thinking they are doing God’s work and forgetting they also have bills to pay.

In an interview on Cape Coast-based Radio Central with Amansan Krakye, the “Hossana” singer said;

“As gospel artistes we play shows at conventions, crusades and ticketed events. But whether people pay gate fee or not we make sure at least our transportation fee and money for the band is paid after we perform”.

KODA has been nominated twice in this year’s VGMA. The categories are gospel song and gospel artist of the year.
